 Parts Of Speech -  Adjectives 1. What is an Adjective? An adjective is a word that describes or modifies a noun or pronoun. It provides more information about the noun’s size, shape, color, origin, material, etc. Example: She wore a beautiful dress. They live in a small house. 2. Types of Adjectives a. Descriptive Adjectives – Describe quality or kind. Eg. happy, tall, blue, intelligent b. Quantitative Adjectives – Indicate quantity. Eg: some, much, many, little, few, all c. Demonstrative Adjectives – Point out specific things. Eg: his, that, these, those This car is fast. d. Possessive Adjectives – Show possession. Parts Of Speech - Pronoun   A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun to avoid repetition and make sentences smoother. Types of Pronouns : 1. Personal Pronouns   Personal pronouns refer to specific people or things. Subjective: I, you, he, she, it, we, they Objective: me, you, him, her, it, us, them Possessive: mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs 2. Reflexive Pronouns Reflexive Pronouns refer back to the subject. Eg. myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves 3. Examples of Nouns: Person: teacher, doctor, Padma Place: school, park, India Animal: dog, elephant, tiger Thing: chair, pencil, book Idea/Feeling: happiness, truth, bravery Kinds of Nouns: 1. Proper Noun Special name of a particular person or place. Example: Amit, London 2. Common Noun General name of a person, place, or thing. Example: girl, city 3. Collective Noun Name of a group or collection. Example: team, bunch 4. Abstract Noun Name of a feeling, quality, or idea. Example: kindness, wisdom 5. Material Noun Name of a material or substance.
